Best beaches in Rhodes!

Rhodes is not famous only for the good wind for kite surf and windsurf , but also about the nice beaches,that you can relax with a nice cocktail under the sun!!!

Wind->Kitesurf->Beautiful Day!!!

If the wind was 4-5 knots stronger, it would be like summer today at Kremasti  beach!
I wanted  to go to prasonisi today with my friend Jorje to find the other mates from kitesurf,but we saw that there were wind  at Kremasti beach and we deside to stay there for kitesurf and it was  nice! If the wind was little stronger would be perfect!!!

Prasonisi bonfire weekend!!!

Some of my friends are in Prasonisi now for a long weekend!!! I am sure that now they are sitting around the fire,talking about their sessions and telling stories!
Prasonisi Bonfire Night is an annual event,organized by Air Riders and takes place every first weekend of November. Kitesurfers  and friends are going to Prasonisi for a weekend with lots of fireworks,bbq's,beers,music and kitesurf!
Now is a perfect period for this spot because the kitesurf and windsurf schools are closed and is not crowded as is in the summer! So there is lot of space in the water for your kite session!
Can't wait to finish work tomorrow and go met them there!When i'll come back i'll post some pics from the event!

Unsuccessful downwind!!!

When the wind is no so strong here in Rhodes we like to go for a downwind session. We have 2 routes,the first is from St George (Agios Giorgis),a very nice spot near the airport, to Kremasti Kite Pro Center (that we call  Agios Giorgis downwind),and the second from Kremasti center to Windsurfers world @ Ixia (that we call Dinos downwind).

So we tried for a downwind session today,but in the end it wasn't so good idea because the wind was too light...(tis talaiporias!!!)
From the 3 of us that we went for the downwind,me,Papouras and Mimis, only Papouras managed to come @ Kremasti Kite Center by kitesurfing... Mimis didn't try it because his kite had no power when he launched it and prefered to came back with my car. As for me,even if i saw Papouras strungling with his kite, i desided to go in and follow him!!! Bad idea...the wind dropped and after 5 minutes my kite crashed into the sea and i couldn't relaunch it!So i went out at the beach and i was waiting for Mimis to come back and get me :) !!!

The first south wind

Although is still very warm in Rhodes (29C), its pretty obvious that the summer has left us behind. Actually, the first southern strong wind arrived, yesterday. No problem for us though, as we just had to drive 20 min away from Kremasti and have a nice kitesurfing session. We went on Faliraki beach, which is on the south east part of the island. The wind was strong and also quite steady with some waves to play with!

However, it didnt last for long and today we woke up with our favorite western summery wind!!

 Yesterday there was no wind here at Kremasti beach,but even these days,when the weather is not helping us for kitesurf,we can find something to do! So we did wake board with the schools jet ski!!!

We are back!!!

Thanks all our friends for the fantastic 4-day wedding,it was just as amazing as we immagined to be! Dellos has described everything nicely in his post!

 

Now we are back to Rhodes for kitesurfing!!!

THE WEDDING

No kitesurfing for me and my friends last weekend as most of us travelled to Kastelorizo (a nearby to Rhodes, island) for nikos' wedding!!!!! Yes, the decision was made and the big event took place last weekend. It was an excellent organized 4-day trip to a very small island, where new and old friends got together. Hence, instead of kitesurfing there was lots of swimming, sun bathing, ouzo drinking and partying. The trip and everybody's mood reached the peak at the spectacular reception on sunday evening, where all of us danced till next morning.

Niko and Sara congratulations!!! Thank you for the great time we had and we wish you prosperity and happiness!!! All the best, να ζήσετε!!!

A nice windy day!!!

It was a very good kitesurfing day @ Kremasti beach!!! All kiters were playing with the waves and they had a lot of fun!

Spyros ,manager at Kremasti pro kite center, is drinking his frappe,after a very good kite session with his 7m kite and his nomad surfboard!

North-west wind @ Kremasti beach-Air Riders

Today the wind was like the winter,north-west, and you could kitesurfing almost parallel with the coast! Everyone had a lot of fun in the water! Tomorrow the wind will be stronger,windguru's forecast is about 22-26 knots,with bigger waves. Very good conditions for small size kite and surfboard!!!

Strong north wind today and everybody's gone kiting...damn it i have to work so no kiting for me today.and as i always say ''the worst day kiting is better than the best day working...''

Windy.......noooot!!!

Second consecutive day without wind today, too many for this period here in Rhodes! But there are many things to do,especially if you are for holidays here, like visit old town in Rhodes or Lindos,go for wakeboard,ski and other water sports or you can go to a beach bar for mojitos!!!!!

Me and my friends though,didn't do any of those!!! We stayed at the beach in Kremasti and after swimming we went for beers to the cantine next to the kite station!

Relax day @ Kremasti beach!

The wind forecast it was correct for today,after many days of good wind,so it was a good day for relax because the wind it was wery light! Only who was less than 50 kilos could do kitesurf!!! As my friend Dora did who is 47 kilos!!!

 Everyone had enjoyed kitesurfing today at Kremasti beach!!!The wind was good,about 16-19 knots, so me and my friends went in the water with 9 or 10m. I should take my waterproof mp3 player, because would be very nice today kitesurfing with music!!!
As i checked at windgurru and poseidon there is no strong wind (meltemi) tomorrow! Those days if the wind is enough we are going for downwind or we stay at the Kite Center and do the things that i wrote in the post "waiting the wind to come" or anything else that comes in our minds!!!

   The wind was very strong today at Kremasti beach,started from 20-22 knots at 14.00,but till 17.00 was about 28 knots! It was good for 7-9m kites or even 5m!

When we are waiting the wind to come usually we do 3 things:

1.Relaxing!!!

2.We play "tavli" (backgammon)

3.Drinking ouzo at "Alikis" next to the Kitesurf center!
